Kitchen Cove - FAQ

Why should I work with Kitchen Cove Cabinetry & Design?
We are a full service kitchen showroom constantly striving to add value to your experience. Our top priority is ensuring that you receive the highest value for your dollars. One way we have already done this is by selecting our manufacturers carefully. We intentionally limit the number of cabinet lines that we carry as it takes an intricate knowledge of these lines to achieve sophisticated design in a cost effective manner. Another way we add value is by helping our customers select flooring, backsplash, lighting and fixtures as part of our service. This always results in beautiful spaces that reflect the home and homeowner seamlessly.
I find most kitchen showrooms overwhelming. How is your showroom different?
We designed our showrooms to have an inviting and comfortable atmosphere where you can make informed decisions on your kitchen project. People often comment that they feel they are visiting us in a home atmosphere without the overwhelming feeling often experienced at a lumber yard or typical showroom setting.
What can I expect during my first visit to your showroom?
During our Initial Meeting we will acquaint you with our showroom and answer your questions. The goal of this meeting is to explore your ideas and wishes, and collect plan measurements. This, together with your budget requirements, provides us a "road map". The most valuable skill we offer at this point is careful listening.
Why should I share my total kitchen budget up front?
We strive to work within your total budget. Rest assured that there are national averages for the amount you should spend on the various parts that go into your kitchen. This is broken down according to your budget. By sharing your total budget up front we can help you allocate your funds and design your beautiful new kitchen accordingly. This results in an on-budget kitchen with the best possible value. Check out our "Establish a Budget" page for more details.
How do I balance my dreams with my budget?
In a word, "experience." We know our cabinet lines intricately and how to design effectively with them. This way we can help you pick and choose your priorities. We also help you to decide where to splurge and where to hold back. We have many years of experience and have completed projects in all price ranges.
How does the design process work and how long does it take?
There are three steps to the design process; Our Initial Meeting, a Design Presentation and the Refinement Process. The first two steps take only one to two weeks depending on the scope of the project. The Refinement Process is initiated with a signed contract and deposit and takes as long as the customer needs to get it right. This is where we refine the layout and details of the kitchen. We also finalize the wood species and finish for the cabinetry and guide you in the selection of countertop material, tile, flooring, lighting and paint colors as needed. This step typically takes an additional one to three weeks, but again it depending on the scope of the project.
How long will it take to get a design and quote for my project?
We typically complete a design and get you a quote within one to two weeks depending on the scope of the project.
Are your cabinets protected by any warranties?
Yes, in addition to the manufacturer's warranty we offer a Guaranteed Cabinetry Fit and a One Year In-home Warranty.
How long will it take to get my cabinets?
Cabinetry typically takes 4-8 weeks from time of order. It depends on the manufacturer and current lead times within the company.
How long will the installation of my kitchen take?
Most kitchen remodels take from 4-8 weeks from the time construction begins. It really depends on the scope of the project and the materials you choose.
How long will it take to get my countertops?
Our typical lead times on countertops are 2 weeks from the time of template to install.
How do I choose my flooring, backsplash, lighting and hardware?
We are a full service designer showroom and understand the importance of pulling together all the elements in your kitchen. The keys to choosing appropriate flooring, backsplash, lighting and hardware are consistent style, functionality and experience. Our goal is to help you with all the finishes in your kitchen resulting in a wonderfully cohesive space.
How do I choose a contractor?
You can use one of our recommendations or you can seek referrals from friends, family and others who have had remodeling work done. Remodeling is a personal process, we think it's important to find someone you're comfortable with and who has a good reputation.
How do you approach kitchen design?
One of our guiding principles at Kitchen Cove Cabinetry & Design is that the best investment in your kitchen is always the functionality of the layout first, and the aesthetics second. It is through experience and knowledge that value comes to fruition. When we are working together we may suggest a less expensive option for one aspect of your kitchen to accommodate better investments for others. We always use your budget requirements to guide you in the process.
